Restaurants and cafes in Montenegro. Where and what to eat

Visiting Montenegro can turn into a delicious adventure if you know where to go and what to order. 

In my food guide I’ve put places with different types of cuisine, service and prices. I also put together a list of products that I believe worth of trying when visiting the Balkans. 

I would like to start with my hometown of Tivat. A little village, a luxuries resort, a world famous marina for all kinds of yachts. There are as many kinds of food places as names of the town. 

To begin with I want to mention Korzo Kitchen restaurant that combines causal fine dining, good ratio of quality and prices, nice atmosphere, attentive service and non-smoking area that can be an issue in the Balkans. The menu offers a mix of local, Russian and Asian dishes. Good variety of fish, meat and vegetarian options. Steaks are fantastic, coming with incredible sauce. Big variety of cocktails and wines. Also they offer good variety of dishes for breakfast, including a BYO — build your own breakfast with eggs. There are both sweet and savory alternatives, like cottage cheese croquettes or bulgur & chicken bowl along with classics like granola bowl, brioche or bagel nesting salmon with poached eggs. Located next to the Pine — a square on the Promenade in the center of the town, it has good location at the beginning of Porto Montenegro area, just 2 minutes away from the central parking lot and 1 minute from the Tourist centre. 

Now let`s talk about something posh and pricey. The best way to find these kind of places is to walk around Porto Montenegro area — a luxurious district full of expensive shops, accommodations and restaurants. Here you can choose pretty much any place, but I want to highlight Agape restaurant cheering Greek flavours and Mediterranean style. My recomendation is not to skip desert and endulge yourself with an amazing carrot cake with pistachio cream. Next comes Forza restaurant with wide variety of seafood dishes. I loved their squid risotto. Great balance of flavours with citrus and cheese.
